"36. Pistachio Mead Pistachio Mead is a delicious and unique alcoholic beverage made from honey, water, yeast, and lots of toasted pista- chios. It is slightly sweet, nutty, and has an alcohol content of around 11%. Serving: 8 - 10 glasses Preparation time: 2-3 hours Ready time: 2 weeks Ingredients: * 1 gallon of water * 2 /4 lb of honey * 2 cups of toasted pistachios, slightly crushed * 1 package dry ale yeast Instructions: 1. In a large pot, heat the water and honey until all of the honey is dissolved in the water. 2. Remove pot from heat and add the pistachios. Stir for a few minutes until all pieces are incorporated. 3. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. 4. Once cooled, add in the yeast and stir to combine. 5. Pour the mixture into a 2 gallon car- boy or fermentation vessel. Fill the ves- sel with an additional 2 cups of cool water. 6. Cover the carboy with a cloth and se- cure with a rubber band. Allow to fer- ment for two weeks. 7.After two weeks, remove the cloth and rubber band. 8. Transfer the mead to a clean beer bot- tle or glass container and refrigerate."
