Original Prompt

"Create a custom banana bread recipe using self-rising flour instead of all-purpose flour, with any necessary adjustments for leavening and salt. Include a cheesecake filling layer in the middle, preferably using instant cheesecake pudding mix; if that isn't suitable, provide the steps to make a cheesecake filling from scratch. Customize the nut add-in suggestion to 1/2 to 3/4 cup of any nut of choice. Also provide a nut-free crunchy option that works well in banana bread. Give baking temperatures and times for the two most common loaf pan sizes sold in Hawaii: 8.5 x 4.5-inch and 9 x 5-inch. Use imperial units only."

Name: Hawaii Banana Bread Cheesecake Swirl
Yield: 10
Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups mashed very ripe Hawaii-grown bananas, about 5 medium bananas total; suitable varieties include apple banana, ice cream banana, manzano banana, red banana, lady finger banana, and Cavendish-type bananas if locally available; Banana-variety note for banana bread: best to good ranking is apple banana first, followed by red banana, ice cream banana, and Cavendish-type bananas if locally available. Do not use underripe, watery, or off-smelling bananas.; 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled; 3/4 cup granulated sugar; 2 large eggs; 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste, 1:1 substitution; vanilla bean paste gives a stronger vanilla flavor and visible vanilla specks; 2 cups self-rising flour; 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon; 1/2 cup chopped nuts of choice, such as walnuts, pecans, macadamias, or almonds, or up to 3/4 cup if you like it extra nutty; Optional nut-free crunchy add-in: 1/2 cup toasted coconut flakes or 1/2 cup crushed vanilla wafers; Optional Hawaii-grown local fruit mix-ins, up to 3/4 cup total, such as diced dried pineapple, chopped papaya, diced mango, diced guava, chopped lilikoʻi (passion fruit) pulp that has been well drained, or finely chopped apple banana for extra banana flavor; especially good with white macadamia nuts; Optional spice combinations: 1 teaspoon cinnamon + 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg for warm classic flavor; 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon + 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger for brighter tropical lift; 1 teaspoon cinnamon + 1/8 teaspoon cardamom for a fragrant bakery-style loaf; Cheesecake filling: 8 ounces cream cheese, softened; 1/3 cup powdered sugar; 1 large egg yolk; 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste, 1:1 substitution; vanilla bean paste gives a stronger vanilla flavor and visible vanilla specks; 1/3 cup instant cheesecake pudding mix, dry; 2 tablespoons milk; 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, only if the filling seems too loose; Optional buttermilk note: If you use buttermilk with self-rising flour, reduce other acidic or liquid elements as needed; otherwise keep the current liquid balance and stick with the recipe as written
